Adoptable Gordon Setters
Raven (Maryland) – Courtesy Posting
1 1/2-year-old spayed female Gordon Setter. She is ALL puppy: wiggly, busy, curious, energetic, no restraints or good judgment. She weighs about 65# and still has her soft puppy coat.
Raven, age 6, owner surrender due to owner’s health, is fostering with Save Our Setters in Maryland but some transport might be arranged.
JAZZ ADOPTED!
1 1/2-year-old spayed female Gordon Setter. She is ALL puppy: wiggly, busy, curious, energetic, no restraints or good judgment. She weighs about 65# and still has her soft puppy coat.
Another young dog in an adoptive home would be a big plus for her. She has not met cats or children of any age. Jazz loves tug of war, will bring a ball back, and enjoys rough housing with another dog. She is a talker, her roo-roo-roo is very enthusiastic!
Jazz still has A LOT to learn, so her new family will need to provide consistent and positive training. She should attend basic obedience classes and might enjoy a career in dog sports. A secure yard with a 5-6’ fence is required.
Contact Kathy Hubbard by email at to learn more about the opportunity to adopt Jazz. She is fostering in northern Illinois.
Buddy (Nevada)
Buddy looks very much like a field type Gordon Setter, but his DNA test says otherwise! He is an approximately 4 1/2 years old, neutered and weighs 60+#. He has received all core vaccinations, has been wormed, is heartworm negative and microchipped. He tested positive for Chagas Disease and is on a treatment schedule and is NOT contagious to other dogs.
Buddy is smart and food motivated. While he is affectionate with his foster family, he is overcoming resource guarding his food bowl. We have found this to be a common trait in dogs with a lack of early training and confidence-building as well as dogs who have been stray for a length of time. He is improving in foster care.
As a young athletic boy, Buddy might be a great running partner or competition dog. A home with a fenced yard is also ideal. He needs a stable and somewhat calm household and will not be placed in a home with children because of his unknown background.
Contact Kathy Hubbard by email at to learn more about the opportunity to adopt Buddy. He is fostering just west of Las Vegas, near the southern California state line, and not far from northern Arizona. Some overland transport to meet an adopter is possible.
