History of the NWGDC

The Gordon Setter Club of America instituted the National Walking Gun Dog Championship to give the breeders, owners, trainers and handlers who prefer a walking field trial an opportunity to showcase their premier dogs. Because the Master Hunter standard of Performance is almost identical to the Gun Dog standard, it was decided that Master Hunters, in addition to dogs with an FC, AFC, or placement in a Gun Dog or All Age stake at an AKC trial, would be eligible to compete.
